Charlotte Bearden ("Miss Charlotte") brings to Kindermusik a passion for music and a special love for children that has carried her happily through thirty years of teaching music in Milledgeville, Georgia. She taught elementary music for 23 years in Baldwin County Public Schools, being named Teacher of the Year by her peers at West End Elementary three different times. In 1999, she joined the faculty of Georgia Military College Prep School, creating a music and drama program for the middle school and high school where she directed the choral program and the school’s annual spring musicals and taught general music and music appreciation courses. During her first year at GMC, she was named GMC’s Teacher of the Year and Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year. Charlotte Bearden knows first hand the many ways that music enriches the lives of children and is excited about continuing her music education career and spreading the joy of music through Kindermusik and private piano lessons.

Mrs. Bearden received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Georgia College and State University in 1976. She also received Orff Schulwerk Level I certification from Memphis State University in 1981 and her Kindermusik Educator’s License in 2003. She and her husband, Billy, celebrate their 32nd anniversary this year. They have two children: Brittany, who is 26, and McKendrick, who is 20.
